The vocal part of the programme revealed the full range of baroque emotion. In Dorinda’s aria from Händel’s Orlando, Julia Pliś joined subtlety with theatrical expression, showing a heroine whose inner unrest not even the beauty of the world around her can silence.
„Wokalna część programu odsłoniła całą skalę barokowych emocji. W arii Dorindy z „Orlanda” Händla Julia Pliś połączyła subtelność z teatralnym wyrazem, pokazując bohaterkę, której wewnętrznego niepokoju nie potrafi zagłuszyć nawet piękno otaczającego świata.”

The rare pairing of soprano and countertenor showed itself most fully in the duets. The closing “Pur ti miro, pur ti godo” from Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea brought one of the most sensual moments of the evening. The voices of Pliś and Foltak drew each other in, answered one another and intertwined. That particular tension and sensuality could only arise from the meeting of these two colours.
„Najpełniej niezwykłość zestawienia sopranu i kontratenoru ujawniła się w duetach. Finałowe „Pur ti miro, pur ti godo” z „Koronacji Poppei” Monteverdiego przyniosło jedną z najbardziej zmysłowych chwil wieczoru. Głosy Pliś i Foltaka przyciągały się, odpowiadały sobie i splatały. To szczególne napięcie i zmysłowość mogły powstać właśnie dzięki spotkaniu tych dwóch barw.”
